CNYFSC Soccer Golf Rules

The concept of the game of Soccer Golf consists of playing a ball with your foot to the “hole” in as few kicks as possible for 9 holes. Throughout each hole the player(s) will have to avoid challenging hazards and obstacles. The rules of the game are similar to golf; players kick off at a tee box, drive down the fairway, make a short shot to the hole, and kick the ball against the designated colored target. The player keeps track of their own score for each hole. Depending on the length and difficulty of the hole determines the par score for that hole. At the end of the round add each hole up on your scorecard and the player with the lowest number score wins.

The Course:

  • Nine Holes
  • Wooden Red and Blue Box, 2' wide serve as the hole
  • Garden planters indicate the Tee Zone for each hole
  • Goals and Blue Painted Grass indicate obstacles and “water” hazards

Basic Rules:

  • Confirm your target color (red or blue or either). Objective is to hit the target box with your ball. You should not kick your ball inside of the box.
  • Start at your scheduled hole number and wait your turn if others are playing that hole.
  • Due to current guidelines participants need to bring their own ball that should be easy to identify. One ball per player. **Balls available for sale at front desk**
  • Kick off your ball from behind/between the flower pot tee markers.
  • The order of play is established by the score of the previous hole. The player with the best score will kick off first on the next hole.
  • Make sure your kick will not interfere with other players.
  • The player farest from the hole is the first to play their next shot.
  • The ball must be played in a single movement. You are not allowed to push the ball with the top or bottom of your foot. Your foot must start separated from the ball.
  • You must wait to kick until the ball has completely come to a resting stop.
  • It is illegal to stop the ball from rolling in the wind, hill, obstacle, etc.
  • Play the ball from where it lies. You are not allowed to move the ball, remove or move objects from the course.
  • If your ball is stuck in a barrier (ex: goal, tree, etc.) you then place your ball within two steps from where the ball entered a barrier and add a stroke(kick).
  • Please make sure to keep up with the group in front of you while practicing social distancing.

Hazards and/or Out of Bounds:

  • If your ball is stuck in a barrier (ex: goal, tree, etc.) you then place your ball within two steps from where the ball is located and add a stroke(kick). The ball may not be placed forward toward the target. You are permitted to place the ball in a backward or lateral position.
  • If your ball goes into a “water” (blue painted grass) you will have to move your ball to the designated drop zone.
  • If your ball goes out of bounds, place your ball on the edge of where it exited the course and add a stroke(kick).

Player Expectations:

  • Players are expected to abide social distancing during the entire round
  • Scorecard is to be submitted with accuracy and honesty with accordance to CNYFSC course rules. Complete your scorecard once the round is completed.
